How Churches Can Lift Up Older Adults

Some of the best stories in church happen long after the sermon, over coffee, in the hallway, or while stacking hymnals with someone who’s been singing them for 50 years. For many older adults, these moments are the heartbeat of community.

But not every elder gets to feel that warmth. Some quietly carry loneliness, even in a crowd. That’s why at HELP Global, our volunteer led organizaiton, we are setting aside time to listen, learn, and discover how churches can help seniors feel more connected and less alone.

That’s why our volunteer-led team at HELP Global, in collaboration with the Advancing a Healthier Wisconsin Partnership, and Pastoral Leadership in a Cultural Context at Marquette is taking time to listen and learn how churches can better support seniors’ mental and emotional well-being.

An Invitation to Leaders

We’re inviting pastors and church leaders for a lively, solution-focused conversation on strengthening those connections.

Event Date: Wednesday, August 28th, 9am- 2.30pm. Location: Marquette University Email us: pastoral.leadership@marquette.edu

A Call to Our Older Adults

There is an on going exploration. We also want to hear directly from adults aged 65 and older through a short, 15-minute survey—because no one tells the story of connection better than those living it. Email info@healthequitypartnership.org

When churches come together, we can build more connected communities—places where older adults feel supported, valued, and never forgotten. Partnering on this effort means not only caring for our seniors, but also strengthening the bonds within our congregation
